How do we calculate prices?

We calculate price ranges from approved elma3rad listings and update them every night.

Each observation is a listing's latest asking price. We use one listing per seller phone number for each make, model and year, keeping the most recently approved listing when there are several.

We use listings approved in the past 365 days. The default window is 365 days, about 12 months. We exclude rejected, removed and report-hidden listings, and any typed make or model that has not entered the catalogue.

After counting, we drop prices below the 5th percentile and above the 95th percentile. We calculate the 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile from the remaining prices, rounding to the nearest EGP 1,000. The displayed range runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile.

We publish a range only when there are at least 8 listings from at least 5 different seller phone numbers, counted before trimming.

These are asking prices, not sold prices. We will add sold prices once we have enough data.

We publish no names or phone numbers. The listing count is after choosing one listing per phone number and before trimming price extremes.
